What’s a House Concert?

Imagine your home transformed into a cozy, candlelit concert venue. Your friends, family, and neighbours gathered for an intimate musical journey — up close and personal with acclaimed songwriter Lowry Olafson.

It’s not a party with background music. It’s a listening experience. A gathering of hearts and ears for songs that move, uplift, and connect.

What’s Involved?

You invite your friends, family, and neighbours (aim for 18–40 guests is typical).

You provide a space to sit and listen (living room, backyard, deck – anything works). Lowry will help you set it up with row seating to feel and look ike a real concert and set the tone for a focused, powerful experience.

Lowry brings his guitar, sound gear, and decades of songs and stories.

Suggested donation: $25 per guest (all goes to support the artist).

Refreshments
Keep it simple. Ginger tea and some cookies will do it.

Ginger Tea is easy and popular. Chop up ginger root, boil it in a big pot on your stove. Have a ladle handy, some mugs and a little honey. Guests love it. And your house smells terrific!

BYOB is fine – it’s your house, your vibe.

What It’s Like?

Lowry plays two-sets of 50 minutes each. Usually a 30-minute intermission for people to mingle. 

Lowry introduces the songs with stories and entertaining anecdotes that give people a window into where they came from. People often comment how much they enjoy that, especially since these are all his own original songs. He'll also pull out his violin and looper for a whole nuther level of fun and variety.

Lowry has a sweet little sound system, so the music sounds rich and people can hear the words and nuances.

He'll make you a personalized flyer that you can email to invite people with whatever information on it you’d like to have.

It's a Concert, not a party.
The main thing is that people understand it’s a concert and not a party. We arrange the furniture a little so it’s concert style seating and he'll help with that. If you need more chairs, guests are often willing to bring one or two as needed to help out.
