What’s a House Concert?

Picture your living room turned into a concert hall for an afternoon or evening. You're the one who brings everyone together—friends, family, neighbours, colleagues —for a private concert up close with Lowry, songs unfolding just a few feet away.

It's a listening room – with an audience invited and gathered by you to share an experience they'll be talking about for years to come.

What’s Involved?

Invite the guests
Lowry will create an invitational flyer for you to email to prospective guests. Send it – or call friends, family, and neighbours. Aiming for 18–45 guests is typical.

Create the space
Whether it's a living room, backyard or deck, Lowry will help arrange things to feel like a real concert – and set the tone so the audience feels comfortable and ready to engage.

Music and sound
Lowry brings his guitar, violin, sound gear, and decades of songs and stories.

The show
Lowry plays two sets of 50-minutes each. Usually a 30-minute intermission for people to mingle. 

Lowry shares stories that give people a window into the songs – how or where they came about and people often say how much they enjoy that. He'll also pull out his violin and looper for a whole nuther level of fun and variety.

Refreshments
Keep it simple. Ginger tea* and cookies are always a hit. BYOB is fine – it’s your house, your vibe. You decide.

Suggested donation: $25 – $35 per guest is typical. Or you can pay a set fee if you prefer.

*Ginger Tea? Yup. It's easy and popular. Chop up ginger root, boil it in a big pot on your stove. Have a ladle handy, some mugs and a little honey. Guests love it. And your house smells terrific!

It's a Concert :)
Make sure your guests know they're coming to a concert and not a party. Arranging the chairs concert style seating sets the tone. By the way, if you need more chairs, guests are often willing to bring one or two as needed to help out.
